About the Downtown Mall
Originally Three Notch'd Road, then Main Street, the Downtown Mall is now Charlottesville's most vibrant entertainment district. Numerous restaurants, theaters, interesting architecture, and alluring local history combine to make this a fascinating tour, and your Guide will bring it together with fun and adventure.
What to Expect
On this 3-hour walking food tour, you’ll visit some of the most popular restaurants and taste some of the best dishes on Charlottesville's Downtown Mall while also learning about the history and evolution of this unique urban park and commercial district.
You’ll meet your Guide at the extreme west end of the Mall and orient on the moveable feast to come! Over the next 3 hours you’ll visit 5 classic Downtown Mall eateries to taste delicious dishes* with the option to add alcoholic drink pairings.**
You’ll taste delicious smoked barbecue brisket, limonada, and sudanese tacos, Virginia ham biscuits made from scratch, a teasing hand-crafted mocktail, fresh chocolate and more!
In between stops, you’ll learn about the history and evolution of an historic district original to Charlottesville, both historically and spiritually!
